ECONET announces ZARA- a youth leadership process for youth working with their communities. The program will Start in August 2010 At ECONET we have initiated a 3 module learning program specifically designed for youth and young workers form the community. This workshop focuses on co- creation of the idea of leader and leadership among youth and the change that they want to explore as 'their' picture of Development. It helps the young leaders to construct their base explore alternatives, they would test to progress into this vision of development. This program in ECONET has helped her to reposition herself in the changing scenario, to redefine its priorities in the area of Human and Institutional Development. The dialogue on the changing picture of development also contributes to the debate within Econet and its forums on her agendas of Advocacy. This program also introduces them to the various analytical frameworks and helps them look at their work from a fresh perspective and with awareness and understanding on the developing realities and challenges. This processes has also proved as an opportunity for ECONET to explore new tools, create new frameworks and co-create modules as per the need of the group. It is also an effort to build a learning community in our field. After the first two cycles we have now institutionalized this program and we call it ZARA. As part of the institutionalization process selected change projects will be supported by Econet. Anuja Krishna
